For over twenty-five years, the little village of MonteCastello di Vibio , in Central Italy, has welcomed some of the most respected artists and thinkers in the world, and as a result has established a thriving legacy of excellence in the arts.
The new International Center for the Arts is privileged to build upon this legacy. Our faculty of distinguished internationally recognized artists teach regularly scheduled classes, critique the work of program participants in their studio spaces and conduct optional end of the session critiques held in our gallery. Visiting artists and scholars lecture on various topics including their own work, the history of Italian Art, and contemporary art from around the world. Our faculty are approachable and generous toward students, often working side by side with them with a contagious enthusiasm that students thrive on.
Well grounded in their mediums and well known both as professional artists and as respected teachers, our faculty in painting and drawing come from top art schools, colleges, and universities in the U.S. and abroad. They offer traditional classes in landscape, still life, figurative traditions, materials and processes of painting, printmaking, drawing, sculpture and photography as well as tutorials for participants more focused on exploring individual directions in their work.
As a student, you will also be able to meet with faculty and visiting artists in class or in your studio or both, depending on your individual focus.
